Orphan Girls

So, we prayed & prayed...and prayed some more. Where God, do you want us to send this "coffee money"? Since we felt so led to give to Haiti, we narrowed our search and have landed! My dearest best friends, who happen to be my cousins, = frousins :) told us about a young couple (our age) in Haiti that started on the mission field right before the earthquake hit. We communicated with this couple a few times and are SO board with their ministry! I will post a link to her blog, but wanted her permission to do so first. It sometimes takes several days to hear back from them, so we (patiently and eagerly) wait for her answers to our questions!

They are preparing to open up a girls' orphanage! They finished building it recently and have been working hard to furnish it and ...even handcrafted each bunk bed! She said they are eager to house 12 girls who don't have a home or the care they need and eager to tell them about Jesus! Can you just imagine these precious girls? I assume- just living on the streets trying to survive, alone and so so lonely...most likely they have lost their families in the earthquake. (Our daughter recently told me (when we pray for the kids in Haiti) that if she didn't have a brother or daddy or momma, she would just cry! Oh I cannot imagine these little girls' hearts!) ...and to soon find themselves in a SAFE and clean home where their needs are fully met in a loving and caring environment, learning about God's love! My heart just swells thinking about the possibilities! ...and all because a young couple felt the Lord's leading into missions.
So, where is YOUR mission field? We believe God has an area that He calls us each individually to serve in....

~is it missions overseas
~serving at a local youth center or pregnancy center
~serving at church in an area that you feel drawn to
~taking goodies to the lonely neighbor 2 doors down? My Great (and Grand) Aunt always says, "food is for sharing!"
~offering to babysit so that parents can go out and have a date night, working on their marriage
~you name it-what is it for you?
When you hear about a problem in the world, (or across the street), what rocks you & impacts you in a way that you can't shake off? What tears your heart apart so desperately that you just MUST do something about it? Father, break our hearts with the things that break yours... I remember singing that in a song years ago and only came to understand the words a couple years ago. ASK God what He has in store for you, and try serving! In the "prayer of Jabez" (found in 1 Corinthians 4:10) it says,

Oh, that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that your hand would be with me, and that you would keep me from evil..."

Bold
Hmm, I am thinking, enlarge my territory... who does God want ME to reach out to TODAY?

Oh, the bunny trails I find myself on...(bless your heart for still reading this post!)

Anyway, we are loving the new coffee roaster and each time we roast, we get all excited at how MUCH we can do at a time! We received a delivery yesterday of 80 lb of coffee, so we are ready to fill orders! We are having so much fun roasting coffee and get so excited to think of the impact that might be made in the lives of little Haitian girls because you bought coffee!

Thank YOU for your interest and support! The Lord has used YOU to encourage our hearts in this attempt to serve HIM!

Enjoy this fabulously gorgeous day!

Bigger...and hopefully better!

Well, we just purchased "the big boy" roaster and are eagerly anticipating his arrival in a few days. Instead of roasting about 1 lb/hr(like we've been doing), we will be able to to at least EIGHT! With new equipment, comes a learning curve, so we are so excited to work hard to perfect the roasting process in large quantities.

We also we VERY blessed to receive a large grinder for our ministry! We really needed an upgrade, and just as we were shopping for one, someone offered to buy it! So, there are now 18 levels of grinding; ultra-fine to extra-course :) Not anticipating all those options, but how nice to have them! It will grind up to 1/2 lb at a time~what a blessing! Thanks so much for your support!!

We have been continuing to pray about the exact ministry to support. There are 2 couples working in Haiti within several miles of Port-au-prince that we are communicating with. The process is slow, b/c they aren't able to have internet access daily(don't we take that for granted!)so we continue to wait on correspondence. Also, a young couple (friends of ours) are working in Swaziland with orphans. We wrote to them and they have some options that we could help with too. Please continue to pray with us about these ministries. If you want more info, please don't hesitate to ask!

Well, that should get you up to speed on the latest with Coffee 4 His Kids! We are enjoying roasting & selling (and DRINKING) and really hope that you also have enjoyed your C4K coffee. However, if it wasn't exactly to your liking, PLEASE PLEASE tell us, we want you to be satisfied! One coffee drinker said his C4K wasn't as quite as "dark roast" as he is used to. We were glad to hear it and are roasting him some DARKY DARK roast for next week! If you LOVED your C4K coffee and it was the best you've ever had-PLEASE PLEASE tell others! The more the word gets out, the more kids will be impacted for both now and eternity!
